lyrics
Day after day we fall into a whirlwind of nihilism, there is no right or wrong, let the
pessimism take over. Sucked down the sewers by our daily working lives, submit to the
masters with a pound of flesh to carry our sins forward...
Feeling numb, terminate, pride is sin, dead inside
Fear within, unstable, into this void
I'm trapped in this life by work, sustain myself
A wage is paid for my sins, must go faster
To please the gods who keep me chained to the machine
Praise the gods, on my knees, overlords, I must please
Sullen my expression, smiling on the outside
Getting through the day when my sins are paid for
Standing by myself I'm in disagreement
I don't make the rules, crush the individual
Swallow my pride and move forward, deciding on my fate
They punish, cut off all opportunities
Try to starve my hope making me one of them
A machine to fit in with the company
Ironclad agreement, A contract signed in blood
I wish I was like them, cold and calculating
Ruthless their decisions, for me no more to gain
Sucked dry by indifference, their assets have grown stronger.
Thrown aside once I'm used, A life now in the gutter
Total hate, despise them, curse of all, feel my pain
Burning inside anger rise, restore my broken pride
I once was so nice subservience denied
No more, rise up, make myself heard to them
Destroy their “morals” I will not beg
A working god, dodging your attack, fed on propaganda, Ironclad intolerance
I have crawled through broken glass, compromised my moral code
For you to step over me, defame my character
Crucify, nails are words, a crown of thorns I wear
Company logo was tattooed upon my soul
A working god, dodging your attack, fed on propaganda, Ironclad intolerance
I now feel cathartic, past employment purged
Move onto next prospect, the cycle repeats again
PSA: if there was an album you heard a couple years ago and thought it was ok, listen to it again and you might love it.
That's what happened to me with this album. I cannot fathom why it didn't stick with me back then. Same thing happened with Decoherence's Unitarity for that matter. Matten
